Testing at Orchard Place School

At Orchard Place School, we participates in MAP testing two times a year. MAP stands for Measures of Academic Progress which is a testing program developed by the Northwest Evaluation Association and is aligned with the common core.  We use this assessment to measure student growth.  When students enter Orchard Place School they are pretested using MAP in areas of Reading and Math.  When they are discharged they take the MAP assessments again in Reading and Math.   When transition meetings are held at discharge with the home district, the information on the MAP tests are shared with the home district of the student.

We will continue to take the Iowa state wide test in the spring each year.    The statewide testing is called ISASP by Pearson.  All students statewide are tested during the spring window.  Results from  testing  become available to schools during the fall semester.  The results are tracked by a student’s state ID number.   Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Spring MAP testing and the Spring ISASP (statewide) last spring were not given to students in the state.

ISASP testing will take place this spring beginning May 10 and finishing on May 28th.  All students in grades 4-11 will be tested with this statewide test.  Students who have completed the test in their home district will not participate in the ISASP testing.  Their home districts will receive the results of their tests.
